The pleasure of the fabric

The emergence of high-quality products are a result of over 3,000 years of accumulated skilfulness, tradition and best-practices with natural fibres such as cotton and fine wool. Technological development and the globalisation of knowledge economies have contributed to the rise of new techniques and processes, which have allowed the industry to respond with diverse collection fabrics, patterns and styles.

The modern Peruvian garment industry was born out of the legacy of traditions passed from generation to generation and new recent technological innovations. These new production techniques are paired with the capacity for short periods of production and delivery times and flexibility with client requirements.

Peruvian cotton

Peruvian cotton are grouped into two main varieties: Pima and Tangüis, which are processed into either flat or weaved fabric, and produce garments like T-shirts, polo shirts, sweaters, shorts, pants, as well as baby clothes, targeting market segments that prioritise quality.

Peruvian garments are sold by renowned brands and fashion houses such as Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Guess, Lacoste, Massimo Dutti, Nautica, Polo Ralph Lauren, Reebok, Swiss Army, Tommy Hilfiger, Victoria Beckham, and Zara, to mention a few.

Alpaca wool

Alpaca wool is one of the most unique fibres in the world due to its extremely soft and delicate, but also strong and resistant, fibres ideal for industrial processing. Furthermore, it has thermal properties and is easy to dye into 14 industrial colours.

The fibre is manually classified and is used to make cloths, sweaters, accessories, and blankets; it also can be mixed with other natural fibres. Peru is the world’s largest producer of alpaca and vicuña wool.

Footwear and accessories

Quality and modern designs following the requirements of global markets and the latest fashion trends are trademarks of Peru’s sub-sector of footwear & accessories. Manufacturers are able to produce a large variety of styles in footwear and accessories for both men and women.

Outsourcing/White label

Due to its rich legacy, innovative technologies and highly-competitive manufacturing base, Peruvian suppliers are able to cope with varied quantities, short delivery times and highly-bespoke products that are well-suited for outsourcing and white label markets.
